Legacy 600 super mid-size business jet  
  • Renamed Legacy 600 in 2005, the aircraft was developed to cost effectively meet the air travel needs of corporations, successful entrepreneurs and heads of state. Designed using the highly successful ERJ 135 platform, the Legacy 600 combines cabin comfort, performance and operating efficiency to meet the diverse needs of owners.
  • July 2000: Embraer launches the Legacy at the Farnborough Air Show in England, heralding the Company’s arrival into the executive aviation market.
  • March 2001: Legacy 600 takes its maiden flight.
  • December 2001: CTA awards the Legacy 600 certification.
  • May 2002: The first Legacy 600 private aircraft was delivered to a Brazilian customer,  Unibanco.
  • July 2002: European Joint Aviation Authority (JAA) certifies the Legacy 600.
  • September 2002: Legacy 600 awarded certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • December 2002: Legacy 600 jet was delivered to its first international customer, the Apollo Group, a leading provider of higher education programs that meet the needs of working adults. The aircraft was delivered through Phoenix, AZ-based Embraer Authorized Service Center, Swift Aviation Group.
  • March 2005: Legacy 600 operational ceiling was raised to 41,000 ft. (12,500 m) by Brazilian and US aviationauthorities, affording use of less congested routes for faster flights.
  • March 2007: Embraer delivered its 100th Legacy aircraft to Prague-based ABS Jets, an aircraft management, maintenance and charter company.
  • May 2009: Embraer sets an historic milestone with the sale of a Legacy 600, the 1,100 aircraft, based on the successful commercial ERJ 135 platform.

  • February 2010: FlightSafety International and Embraer partner to provide training for super-midsize Legacy 600. The success of the Legacy 600 paved the way for Embraer to develop the most extensive portfolio of executive aircraft available today.
  • February 2012: Embraer Executive Jets has introduced major improvementsto its popular Legacy 600/650 jets that refines the interior, features a state-of-the-art cabin management system and offers increased efficiency and safety for aircraft operations, significantly raising the bar for its class.
  • May 2012: Embraer Executive Jets signed an agreement with Jet Aviation - Moscow Vnukovo to reinforce the level of service offered to Russian Legacy 600/650 customers.
  • June 2012:  Embraer S.A. (BOVESPA: EMBR3, NYSE: ERJ) and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) signed an agreement to build Embraer’s Legacy 600/650 executive jets in China.
  • October 2012: The iPad app - eTechPubs - is expanded to the Legacy 650, eliminating the need to carry a 40-pound flight bag filled with paper manuals.
  • November 2012:  Embraer’s Legacy 600/650 program reached a significant milestone with the delivery of the 200th aircraft of the Legacy family, a Legacy 650 large executive jet, to China’s Minsheng Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (MSFL).
