  • September 2009: Twin maiden flights for the first two aircraft, produced in tandem on the production line.
  • October 2009: Embraer announced the launch of the Legacy 650, with advanced avionics, greater range and capacity for up to 14 passengers for the large jet category, complementing the super-midsize Legacy 600. Embraer Executive Jets made the announcement at the 62nd Annual National Business Aviation Association convention in the U.S. Embraer inks its first Legacy 650 sale with a contract for two ordered by Aircraft Asset Management (AAM) GmbH, a private jet charter operator and Legacy 600 customer, DC Aviation, from Stuttgart, Germany.
  • February 2010: FlightSafety International and Embraer partner to provide training for Legacy 650.
  • August 2010: Embraer presents the Legacy 650 to the public for the first time during the 7th edition of the Latin American Business Conference and Exhibition (LABACE), in São Paulo (SP), Brazil.
  • October 2010: the Legacy 650 large jet granted certification from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) and from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
  • November 2010: First Legacy 650 delivered to U.K.’s Amsair Aircraft Limited which will base the aircraft at Stansted-based Titan Airways Executive, a VIP charter company.
  • February 2011: Legacy 650 certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • October 2011: Embraer Executive Jets welcomes the new brand ambassador, Jackie Chan, to the Legacy 650.
  • February 2012: Embraer introduces new 2012 edition of its popular Legacy 600/650 executive jets including a new Honeywell Ovation® SelectTM state-of-the-art cabin management system, refined cabin styling and enhanced soundproofing.
  • March 2012: Minsheng Financial Leasing takes its first Legacy 650, the first of 13 previously announced Legacy 650 aircraft ordered by MSFL has been delivered.
