São José dos Campos November 22, 2005
– Embraer today announced the appointment of Colin Steven as Vice-President for Marketing and Sales of Embraer Executive Jets during Dubai’s 9th international aerospace exhibition, taking place this week.
Colin Steven, previously Regional Vice-President for Swift Aviation Group, brings an extensive aviation experience after holding key posts at Cessna and Gulfstream. He will be in charge of Embraer business jet sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Steven, to be based at Embraer’s Paris office, said: “The regions under my responsibility are exciting markets where the Legacy 600 is already strongly positioned throughout. The Middle East, in particular, has proved to be an ideal platform for the Legacy 600 with its large cabin environment and high temperature operating capability at 50 degrees Celsius. The addition to our product portfolio of the recently announced Phenom 100 very light jet and Phenom 300 light jet will also play an important role in this rapidly expanding Middle East market”.
Embraer will be displaying a Legacy 600 Executive at Dubai’s static exhibition. This follows a recent stunning appearance at the annual convention of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) in the United States.
At NBAA, Embraer also unveiled the Phenom 100 very light jet and the Phenom 300 light jet, launched earlier this year to advance Embraer’s position in the business aviation segment.
Steven’s appointment is only the latest of a series of announcements relevant to Embraer’s executive aviation business. Under the leadership of Senior Vice-President Luís Carlos Affonso, Embraer kicked off a restructuring of this organization in March. Since then, the sales team has been strengthened and the customer and service support structure boosted. For more information, visit the www.embraerexecutivejets.com
