EMBRAER DELIVERS THE FIRST LEGACY JET TO ARABIAN PRIVATE OWNER

Embraer announced today the delivery of a Legacy Executive to Saudi Arabia’s Sheikh Fahad Al Athel and the first Embraer corporate jet to be flown in the Middle East. The aircraft is being delivered under a distribution agreement through Scottsdale (AZ) based Swift Aviation Group, which is the exclusive distributor for the Legacy in the Middle East, and is expected to enter into service immediately from its base in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This is a landmark for Embraer not only in Saudi Arabia but in the entire region,” said Samuel Hill, Embraer’s Executive Vice President for the Corporate Aircraft Market. “With the Legacy we have the opportunity to provide our corporate customers with a new level of service. Its combination of size, speed, range and price represents a change in the way business jet owners are viewing the current options for fleet renewal.

Sheikh Fahad´s FAL Group owns a Boeing 727-100 jet, and through SAMCO Aviation in Riyadh, operates a Boeing 737-200, a Challenger 601-3A and a Citation Excel. The Legacy now added to his fleet will be flying both domestically and internationally.

The new aircraft is part of Sheikh Fahad´s plan to extend and modernize his business operations. “With the Legacy we will add state-of-the-art technology to our fleet. Embraer´s product has an outstanding cabin, large luggage space, and is extremely versatile. From a maintenance perspective, the Legacy requires little or no ground support. As we see it, the Legacy yields the best value for money,” said Mr. Zaher Deir, General Manager of SAMCO Aviation.

The current order book for the super mid-size Legacy stands at a total of 165 aircraft with 73 orders and 92 options worldwide. 10 aircraft have already been delivered to customers in Latin America and Europe. To support the Legacy operators, Embraer has built upon its existing worldwide customer support network, by forming partnerships with leading business aviation service providers.

This combination of global infrastructure and business aviation expertise assures Legacy operators convenient access to technical assistance, training, and service – wherever their business takes them.
