EMBRAER DISPLAYS LINEAGE 1000 AND PHENOM 300 JET MODELS IN INDIA

São José dos Campos, January 13, 2009 – Embraer will showcase, for the first time in India, the cabin cross-section of the ultra-large Lineage 1000 executive jet, January 19-23, at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel, in the city of Mumbai. At the same time, it will also exhibit a full- scale mock-up of the Phenom 300 light jet.

Indian visitors will have an opportunity, for the first time, to see and experience all of the comfort and luxury of the Lineage 1000,” said José Eduardo Costas, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Asia Pacific – Executive Jets. “We will also have the Phenom 300 jet, which has been a big success worldwide, and will go into operation in India in the next few years.”

India’s Invision Projects Pvt. Ltd. has an order for 18 Phenom 100 and two Phenom 300 jets. Another Phenom customer in the country is Aviators India Pvt. Ltd., which provides executive aviation services and has purchased two Phenom 100s.

Following the four-day exhibit at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel, Embraer will participate in the Aero India 2009 air show, in the city of Bangalore, February 11-15. At that time, the Company will promote its wide-ranging portfolio of executive jets, consisting of the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 jets (entry level and light categories), the new Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 (midlight and midsize, respectively), the popular Legacy 600 (super midsize), and the luxurious Lineage 1000 (ultra-large). All of the jets are best-in-class, offering superior comfort, excellent performance, and low operating costs.

About the Lineage 1000 jet

The Lineage 1000 jet was primarily designed for comfort and luxury. The aircraft can be configured to accommodate up to 19 passengers in a total cabin volume of 4,085 cubic feet (115.7 cubic meters). The interior, designed in a partnership with London-based Priestman Goode, offers five distinct privacy zones and two lavatories. A third lavatory and a stand-up shower unit are optional.

The aircraft’s cabin is outfitted by PATS Aircraft Completions, a division of DeCrane Aerospace, located in the United States, featuring the most refined materials in its category. A wide variety of cabin configurations fits all traveler needs with plenty of room for work, rest and meetings. Besides the optional Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), there are such optional amenities as Wi-Fi technology and Internet access, plus other features.

The total baggage capacity is 443 cubic feet (12.54 cubic meters). A large, pressurized aft baggage area, which is conveniently accessible during flight, is more than twice the size of baggage compartments on competitive jets. The integrated Honeywell Primus Epic® avionics suite comes with five Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) multifunction control screens, Cursor Control Device (CCD), auto throttle, weather radar with turbulence detection, fly-by-wire, and other cutting-edge technologies.

The Lineage 1000 is powered by two efficient, reliable and easy-to-maintain General Electric CF34-10E7-B engines, delivering 18,500 pounds of thrust each. The aircraft’s maximum range, originally projected to be 4,200 nautical miles (7,778 km, or 4,833 miles) with eight passengers, and 4,350 nautical miles (8,056 km, or 5,005 miles) with four passengers, has been extended to 4,400 nautical miles (8,149 km, or 5,063 miles) with eight passengers, or 4,500 nautical miles (8,344 km, or 5,179 miles) with four passengers, both with NBAA IFR reserves and 200 nm alternate. The aircraft offers great airport performance and a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.82, and is capable of flying at an altitude of 41,000 feet (12,497 meters). These characteristics will allow customers to fly nonstop from London (UK) to New York (USA), or anywhere in Europe and the Middle East; from Moscow (Russia) to Tokyo (Japan), Quebec (Canada), or anywhere in the Middle East; from New York to Paris (France), Brasília (Brazil), or anywhere in North America; from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to Beijing (China), Bangkok (Thailand), or anywhere in Europe, Africa or the Middle East; from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Tokyo, Johannesburg (South Africa), Rabat (Morocco), or anywhere in Europe and the Middle East at a lower operating cost and in ultimate comfort.

Born for the demands of commercial aviation, the Lineage 1000 platform is based on the EMBRAER 190 and is designed for quick turnaround, top performance, high use, and low maintenance. The aircraft’s reliability is proven by more than 2.2 million flight hours, and refined by the latest engineering.

The Lineage 1000 executive jet recently won the IDEA/Brasil design award, which is the Brazilian version of the IDEA/USA Awards – one of the most prestigious design prizes in the world.

Priced at US$ 42.95 million, based on January 2006 economic conditions, in its baseline configuration for FAA certification, the Lineage 1000 jet is expected to enter service in the first semester of 2009.

About the Phenom 300 jet

Premium comfort, outstanding performance and low operating costs are key design drivers for the Phenom 300 best-in-class jet. With an interior designed in partnership by BMW Group DesignworksUSA, the aircraft will offer pilots and passengers comfort and style previously unknown in its category. The relaxing ambience is enhanced by generous windows and the most ample cabin in its class. Onboard conveniences include a wardrobe and refreshment center, an aft cabin private lavatory with toiletry cabinet, satellite communications, and a modern entertainment system.

The pilot-friendly cockpit and the docile flying qualities of the aircraft will enable single-pilot operation. Drawing from Embraer’s design and engineering experience, the Phenom 300 is designed for high utilization and availability. For added safety and reliability, the jet will offer a standard anti-skid brake-by-wire system, with carbon brakes.

Based on Garmin’s all-glass, fully-integrated avionics suite, the Prodigy® flight deck offers Phenom jet operators more advantages than any other avionics suite on today’s market. The cockpit features three interchangeable 12-inch displays – two Primary Flight Displays (PFD) and one Multi-Function Display (MFD). The system integrates all primary flight, navigation, communication, terrain, traffic, weather, engine instrumentation, and crew alert data, and presents the composite information in brilliant, sunlight-readable color on the three high- definition displays.

With a configuration to accommodate up to ten occupants, the Phenom 300 jet has a huge 76- cubic-foot (2.15-cubic-meter) baggage capacity that will conveniently transport passengers’ luggage, golf bags and skis.

Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535E engines, with 3,200 pounds of thrust each, power this jet. Its range with six occupants will be 1,800 nautical miles (3,334 km) with NBAA IFR reserves (35 minutes of holding and 100 nm alternate). The aircraft is capable of flying at 45,000 feet (13,716 meters), has a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.78, and is also designed for short-field takeoffs. These capabilities will permit customers to fly nonstop from London (UK) to Reykjavik (Iceland), the Azores, Cairo (Egypt), Tel Aviv (Israel), or Moscow (Russia) at a lower cost than competitive aircraft, including turboprops.

Expected to enter service in the second half of 2009, the Phenom 300 was rolled out on April 14, 2008, and took its first flight on April 29.
